BOTH 4 X 800 RELAYS CAPTURE STATE TITLE – LADIES SET NEW STATE RECORD!

GUYS AND GIRLS 4X8 STATE CHAMPS

The Fighting Irish Ladies 4 x 800 relay team not only took 1st place in the Indoor State Championships at Spire Institute, they also broke the state record with a time of 9:35.8. The previous record was set by our 2011 Lady Irish team. The tradition continues!

The Lady Irish were led by Theresa Hagey, Laney King, Emily Bame and Natalie Tobin.

The guys team then proceeded to run away with the 4 x 800 relay with an impressive time of 8:05. The guys team consisted of Chase Powers, Nate Snipes, Andrew McSteen and Nasari Epps.

GIRLS 4X2 (2)KYA 3RD

The Lady Irish also captured 5th place in the 4 x 200 relay. Their team consisted of Kya Epps, Aminah Claxtion, Kayla Liggins and Olivia Mathis. Sophomore Kya Epps finished in 3rd place in the 60 meter dash

AMINAH 400 Aminah Claxton finished in 7th place in the 400 meter dash.

Natalie Tobin rounded out the medal count with a 5th place finish in the 800 meter run.
