Despite the horrible weather, the Fighting Irish Men and Women teams rose to the occasion. The Ladies qualified in 6 events and the men qualified in 5 events for the state championship. Here are the qualifying events:

Ladies 4 x 800 relay (Theresa Hagey Kate Saum, Emily Bame, Laney King) 1st
Kya Epps 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash 1st in both events
Ladies 4 x 200 relay (Malaya Young, Ny Kimble, Olivia Mathis, Kya Epps) 1st
Theresa Hagey 1600 meter 5th
Kate Saum 1600 meter 6th
Laney King 800 meter 4th

Men’s 4 x 100 relay (Santino Moss, Darrian Lewis, Amarion Watson, Shawn Lodge) 4th
Dhiren Brickman 400 meter 5th
Shawn Lodge 200 meter 3rd
Blake Sifferlin pole vault 5th
Macyo Williams shot put 3rd

Now onto the Big Dance –
The State Finals

Congratulations to the Men’s team for winning their 6th District title. The guys team has qualified in 8 events to the Regionals. The ladies team has also qualified 8 events to the Regionals. The Ladies just missed the title by 9 points. For both the men and the women, you showed tremendous fight and determination.
