CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH TEAMS!
Both teams stepped up in big fashion at the Regional finals yesterday.Despite the miserable conditions, many of you fought through and enabled our teams to advance to the state finals. For the ladies team, this will be your 11th straight trip. For the guys team, this will be your 14th trip in 19 years. The tradition lives on!
Before I get into the week, I want to start to telling all of you and this includes the alternates – TO ENJOY EACH DAY OF THIS WEEK! I know both teams have set a very high bar for this race and I sincerely believe it is within your reach if you are mentally prepared for it. I know you all are physically prepared for that final goal. There is no team as strong as both of our teams. Believe it.
All that is left to do this week is to tweak the speed component of each runner. It is imperative that you all understand that we are not going to be doing that many reps. Therefore, I am expecting the times of each rep to be FASTER than race pace. This is an essential piece in creating speed memory. Hopefully, concentrating on this part this week will be enough time. Lastly, many of you have been battling with a cold. Please consider your hydration and nutrition all week long.
Now, let the Big Dance begin! Here is the breakdown for the week:
Monday – Wednesday: Goodyear from 3:30 – 4:45
Thursday @ school for meditation 3:30 – 4:30
Friday – Send off rally in the gym at 8 am
I am attaching the agenda for all of you to review.
Congratulations once again to both team. Visualize the race beginning now and remember – Courage and Passion requires you rise above your comfort zone.
